Creating a Home Yoga Practice
Creating a Home Yoga Practice
w/Jeanne Ann Walter
Sunday, September 10th 1-3:30pm
At the heart of the yoga practice, it is a personal practice. To delve deeper into the practice and reap the full potential of what the practice can bring, a home practice is essential. Class is where you learn how to practice and get feedback from the teacher, and the home practice is where you deepen your understanding necessary to actually DO YOGA. However, while a mat unrolled on the floor not only holds endless possibilities, for some, it can bring near paralysis and trepidation from NOT BEING SURE WHAT TO DO!
Jeanne Ann will show you a multitude of ways to shape many different practices, considering therapeutic needs, emotional states, personal goals, and your strength and/or flexibility levels. She will help you discover ways to use objects in your home if you don’t have every prop.
“I like to look at things like puzzles, where figuring out how the small fixes make the whole conundrum more manageable.” Putting pieces together that suit YOU and the day you want to practice can be a fun puzzle to work.
There will be handouts for notes, and cellphone photos are welcome. Come dressed for class.
